About The Band
Frictionless Man are:
Singer / songwriter Stuart Ross has worked with jazz, rock, folk and pop music as a songwriter, arranger and instrumentalist. The songs he writes are usually about, although not exclusively, a combination of lust, freedom, loss, disaster, love and disappointment.
Bassist Monica Konggaard is a fantastic talent; she has an imaginative, fluid and emotively melodic playing style, which she has combined with the kick drum to create a bass style that is truly unique.
What people have been saying:
"wonderful reminiscent of an apartment somewhere between where David Byrne started stoking Talking Heads and Gorden De Gano decided that traditional, electric instrumentation was for unimaginative lemmings." - Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales |
"The music scene in Wales at the moment is like a strange elephant's playroom, full of gigantic horrible cardboard origami. The Frictionless Man have no truck with elephants. They are not horrible. But they will be gigantic, one day. The best band writing the best songs currently at large in Wales." - Rhys Hughes, Author of "A New Universal History of Infamy" |
"Frictionless Man are less a band and more of a conceptual partnership borne out of creativity, musicality, and love of darkness. The word duo does not do them justice whatsoever; as the words and music cauterise beautifully the moment they are played. A must see for all those who love their music interesting, dark and itchy. Recommended." - Huw Rees, HRE Productions |
