Buzzing of a B-Movie

Been on holiday in Scotland and actually quite busy otherwise. Things progress, but not so much for the Frictionless Man. However, now I am rehearsing with Dom Kearne of Dom Veron fame on a weekly basis, my musical juices are waxing again. Dom and myself got together to rehearse last week and everything fell into place. The drummer that Dom had found did not really fit in, but it sounded great with just the two of us playing.
As a result I have been buzzing with musical energy all week. There are gadgets that need saving up for and things to plan for. This weekend I would really like to finish the two Frictionless Man songs I have been working on for months and months and get them on the website.
It’s a funny old thing being a musician without anything compelling you to make anything other than some vague urge or yearning. I suppose that is why so many people give up their musical instruments; so many bands split up and never rehearse any more. It is a surprisingly rare for people to keep playing for years and years and do gigs and try to make recordings. Even in the current climate of ever easier home recording it surprises me that everyone is not at it. I remember back in Swansea feeling that being a musician was nothing of note, because just about everyone I knew was in a band, but now I know barely anyone and most of them are not in a band, it feels a bit rarer. I don’t know how this makes me feel.
On the whole I am hopeful and optimistic. Once I get out playing more music and enjoying it all again I think that the Frictionless Man will start being a lot more productive. Got to get the Music Lobes of my brain working again, get the old Rock Synapse firing and all that.
I am toying with whether to order an Octaver this week or next week when I have more money. Must resist, must resist. I am quite keen on Behringer gear ever since I got some multi-band EQs. Its cheap and as far as I can tell it is excellent value for money. I suppose I will now when I get more of it.
Just so you know, in case anyone ever tries to catch you out, a beard of bees is better than a moustache of mosquitoes.
